California LCFS Credit Calculator
This calculator estimates California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) credits based on fuel type, carbon intensity, and end-use applications. Enter your fuel data below to estimate potential LCFS credits.
How It Works
The LCFS Credit Calculator estimates the number of credits that can be generated by supplying low-carbon fuels in California's market. The calculation is based on:
- Fuel Type: Different fuels have unique energy contents and applications.
- Carbon Intensity (CI): The greenhouse gas emissions associated with producing, distributing, and using the fuel (gCO₂e/MJ).
- Energy Economy Ratio (EER): Accounts for efficiency differences between conventional and alternative fuel vehicles.
- Application Distribution: How the fuel is used across different vehicle classes and applications.
